Guide
When should you install your travel eSIM?
There is no single activation rule for every travel eSIM. A plan may start its validity during installation or when it first connects to a supported network. Use the instructions attached to your specific plan as the source of truth.

Step-by-step workflow
- Before scanning the QR code, open the plan details in your order and find the activation trigger, validity period, supported destinations and any time-zone notes.
- If the plan says validity begins during installation, wait until the timing recommended in the plan details. Installing too early could use part of the validity before your trip.
- If the plan says validity begins on first connection to a supported network, install it earlier only when the plan instructions allow this, using reliable Wi-Fi.
- After installation, leave the travel line off or keep it unselected for mobile data until the plan says it is time to use it. Follow the plan’s roaming and network-selection instructions.
- Once you arrive, select the travel eSIM for mobile data and check that it connects to a supported network. If it does not, use the troubleshooting steps for that plan before changing its settings.

Practical tips
- Installation, activation and the start of the validity period can be different events. Check the exact wording in your order rather than assuming they happen at the same time.
- Do not delete the eSIM to pause or restart a plan. Contact support first if the validity start or activation status is unclear.
- When contacting support, include the order reference, destination, device model and the local date and time you installed or first used the eSIM.
